The Perfect Picnic

There is nothing better than a picnic on a beautifully sunny day, and if you are driving around the coast, a picnic stop is most likely on the cards, hooray! Make sure you include these 5 simple steps and you will be on a trip straight to deliciousness and a jolly good time before you can say SANDWICHES.

    1.        Pimms and all its delightful accompliments
    2.        Tea and Cake (Sandwiches too!) in flasks and tins accordingly
    3.      Bunting...of course!
    4.     A camera
    5.     A picnic basket..you won’t get very far without it!

Nothing says picnic quite like Pimms and Lemonade..am I right!? Ultimate style points for a matching Pimms jug and glasses, and don’t forget your fruit and vegetables. And by vegetables I mean cucumber..I don’t fancy popping a carrot stick in mine, although who knows, I may have just uncovered a new delicious concept. You may wish to cut up the fruit in advance, because sticky fruit juice fingers are not the most pleasant thing when outdoors. Note: Sorry drivers, no Pimms for you!

But have no fear the Drivers among you, because bring along a flask of tea and you are good to go! Don’t forget the cake, top marks for jolly tins. Sandwiches are also very welcome, why not cut them in triangles, but it is just that little bit more fun. I like to add little flags in mine too!

Need I say more? If you are plonking yourselves down by the shady spot with trees, or even just in your own garden, string up some bunting in the surrounding trees for an instant picnic boost. Not only will it look exceptionally cool and summery, but will look great as a backdrop to your photographs.

Talking of which, bringing a camera is an absolute must, and score 500 bonus points if you are using film, like this neat little Diana camera, which takes 2 images per negative, or alternatively square format. Documenting your little gathering will not only provide a lasting reminder of your joyful day, but make others extremely jealous they were not there!

Ok so now you know how to prefer a proper posh picnic now all you need to do is hire a vw campervan from Custard Campers and your good to go.  We can even supply the picnic if you don't fancy preparing one yourself!

Many thanks to the wonderful Karys from whoisgrumblebeard.blogspot for this beautiful blog post and images.  Please pop over to her blog and share some Custard love.
