I started this year on a very positive note, determined and confident that 2013 would be the Year of The Custard and so far so good.
January found us busy packing up our home where we have lived for the last ten years, it was time for a new house this time with a better garage and our own drive. We had originally hoped to exchange contracts before Christmas but in the end we exchanged less than a week before completion day. To say things were manic would be an understatement. I am ashamed to admit we needed two removal lorries because of the amount of junk we had accumulated. Most of which is currently costing us money to be sat in storage...how daft!
We are now settled in our lovely new home, a very 1960's style place in the beautiful village of Writtle, only a mile or two down the road from our old house but so very different. So far we have replaced the boiler and heating system, the whole house is being rewired and as of yesterday the kitchen has been ripped out. We are living out of boxes because of the works and dust and dirt everywhere.....
But has this stopped us pushing forward with the campers.....as if!
We attended the Heart FM wedding fair earlier in the month. Nigella showed off her curves and got plenty of attention. I think it will take the next six months to tell how successful it was as most people were gaining ideas at this stage but we received some very positive leads and some bookings.
We also undertook a restoration process but that has hit a problem but I can't say anymore about that for the time being until matters are resolved.
After much stress and worry rather than let all our plans stall we decided we would risk purchasing another campervan.....and here it is;
It is a 1973 Westfalia Continental, it is pretty much ready to work but we will be adding a few 'custard' touches to it. We collect it next Sunday and already I'm excited about the newest member of the team.
It is currently unnamed but we will be launching a competition on Thursday to 'Name Our Camper' and win a free hire in it.
Full details and terms etc will be announced then along with lots more pictures of our camper to hopefully inspire you all, so keep watching our facebook page for info!
This blog is currently on only four followers now that's a bit sad so please help us share the Custard love and it return I will work much harder this year to share more Custard bits and pieces and more pictures of other peoples campers.
